Microphone problems

In some cases microphone problems may occur. The following page provides solutions to common problems.

 

Your microphone could not be activated

Your microphone was detected but cannot be activated by ooVoo. In most cases your microphone is being used by another application. Therefore it cannot be used by ooVoo.

 

Please check the following:

Check if your microphone is being used by another application. In this case you will need to close that application in order to use your microphone in ooVoo.

In order to activate your microphone, you will need to close the video conversation or video message window and reopen it again.

 

If your microphone is not being used by another application you may have a problem with your sound card.

 

Your microphone could not be detected

Your microphone was not detected by ooVoo. In most cases this is because your microphone is not connected to the microphone plug on your computer.

In order to activate your microphone, you will need to close the video conversation or video message window and reopen it again.

 

Please check the following:

  1. Check that your microphone is connected to the microphone plug on your computer.
  2. Verify that your sound card is working properly (by playing a song or sound from another application).
  3. If the problem was not solved, try replacing the microphone.
