Camera problems

Here are some solutions to common camera problems:

 

Your camera is being used by another application (could not be activated in ooVoo).

Check if your camera is being used by another application (including the camera’s own picture taking software). In this case you will need to close the application(s) and also close the ooVoo Video Call or Video message window and reopen them.

 

ooVoo couldn't detect your camera (it wasn't defined automatically in ooVoo or it's not plugged in).

  1. Check that your camera is connected to your computer.
  2. Test your camera using the audio and video wizard (select Check your audio and video from the Help menu). If the camera was installed and/or plugged in after starting ooVoo, log out from ooVoo and then log in again.
  3. If the problem was not solved, try replacing the camera or open a support request for assistance.

 

You didn’t see a proper preview

  1. Check that your camera is connected to your computer.
  2. Check if your camera is properly installed by trying to preview your camera in a different application. If you don’t see a preview, try re-installing your camera.
  3. If there is a preview but the picture is of poor quality, try to adjust the focus.
  4. If the problem was not solved, try replacing the camera.
